Cashew apple or cashew fruit is a typical Brazilian fruit.

In Brazil, cashew trees thrive in the northeast region of Brazil. The largest cashew tree in the world is found in Pirangi, Rio Grande do Norte state.

Ceará state is the major cashew nut producer in Brazil.

Fresh cashew apple (caju), cashew juice (suco de caju), usually concentrated, and cashew cocktail (batida de caju) are very popular in Brazil and you should try them when you are in Brazil.

Most people abroad know only the cashew nut, which is a seed and part of the cashew fruit.
